La Clémentine, located in the heart of the Cevennes National Park near Alès, is the perfect place for families to discover the rich history and beautiful nature of the Gard region in southern France. The campsite is situated by a river branch. Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, and river valleys, the area provides a stunning backdrop for hikes and nature adventures.
Just 6.5 kilometers away is the charming town of Alès, where you can wander through cozy streets and admire historical buildings. You can also do your daily shopping here, and every Monday there’s a lively market. The picturesque town of Anduze is 18 kilometers away, where you can explore the area from a steam train. A must-see is the impressive old Roman bridge Pont du Gard, about 50 kilometers away, the perfect spot for swimming and relaxing by the river.
For active families, there are plenty of options nearby. Go canoeing on the nearby rivers, swim in natural springs, or explore the scenic hiking and cycling trails around Lake Cambous, just 15 kilometers from the campsite. This lake is surrounded by beautiful nature and offers a peaceful setting for a relaxing day out with the whole family. Adventurers can visit the impressive Grotte de la Cocalière, located about 25 kilometers from the campsite—one of the most beautiful caves in France.

- Please note that tourist tax must be paid on site. The tourist tax is €1.56 per person per night and applies from the age of 18.
- At La Clémentine, you are required to pay a cash deposit upon check-in. The deposit is €300.
- A towel package is available for a fee at the reception at La Clémentine.
At La Clémentine, you can check in from 4:00 PM. On the day of departure, you must check out before 10:00 AM.
La Clémentine is located in Cendras, in the natural area of the Cevennes in southern France. The campsite is easily accessible by car.
The campsite is near the D6, a main road that provides direct access to the larger roads in the region from the A7. From Utrecht, it is about 1,150 km, which translates to a travel time of around 11 to 12 hours, depending on traffic and the route.
