Surroundings
At Country Resort de Papillon in Twente, there is much to experience in the surrounding area. For example, you can enjoy horse riding through the beautiful Twente countryside or have an authentic Twente experience with a tractor ride with an oldtimer tractor, both located at about 15 minutes' drive from the campsite.
The immediate surroundings are a paradise for mountain bikers and cyclists. There are also plenty of water activities such as supping, boating and rowing on lakes and rivers in the region, about 20 minutes' drive from the campsite.
For daily shopping and a pleasant shopping trip, you can go to Denekamp, just 10 minutes away. For a wider range of shops and restaurants, head to Oldenzaal, which is about 20 minutes' drive away. Moreover, the German border is just 10 kilometres away.
Tip: Erve Kuiper's IJskuip is very well known in Twente and is at walking distance from the campsite. People come from far and wide to buy the first ice cream of the year. Did you know that their ice cream was awarded the best ice cream in Europe? Enjoy it!

The park is well connected to the A1 and N342, giving you easy access from different directions. From Utrecht, it is about a 165-kilometre drive to Country Resort de Papillon, representing a travel time of about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
