Camping La Colline in the Belgian Ardennes is a nature-rich family campsite. Covering nearly 10 hectares, the campsite offers a wide range of facilities and activities for all ages. With a heated outdoor pool, a toddler pool, a large playground, and various sports fields, there's always plenty of entertainment. During the high season, children can enjoy an extensive entertainment program, while nature lovers explore the area via hiking and cycling routes that start directly from the campsite. For daily essentials, there’s a campsite shop with fresh bread. Not in the mood to cook? Dine at the cozy restaurant or grab a snack at the snack bar. Camping La Colline is beautifully located in Virton, surrounded by the green forests and picturesque villages of the Belgian Ardennes. This region is known for its unspoiled nature, with numerous hiking and cycling paths that take you through hilly landscapes and dense forests. Detailed maps are available at the campsite reception to help you discover the most scenic routes.
There are plenty of family-friendly activities nearby. On Friday mornings, visit the local market in Virton, just 5 minutes away. Explore the Abbey of Orval in Luxembourg, about a 30-minute drive, for a mix of history and nature. For an adventure with a nostalgic twist, Timequest, an escape room, is reachable within 10 minutes.
Other interesting outings include Fort Fermont Castle (a 30-minute drive) or Domaine des Grottes de Han (1 hour away). For a historical experience, Citadel Montmédy is just a 30-minute drive from the campsite, and Sedan Castle is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away.
Virton itself offers cozy dining options and practical amenities such as shops and a supermarket.
Pratical information
Basically open all year round. For accommodation, from about 15 March the water goes on and therefore available
High season 8-18 (all days) with an hour break from 12-13, low season 9-17 (if occupancy is so low the reception will close at 13). My cellphone number is on the door, if needed guests can call me. Please note that the water does not go on until 15 March.
We work with a safe (code 6598 and confirm with a V), in the safe there is an envelope with all the details.
The shop is connected to the reception and, if necessary, guests can buy something from the shop. The shop is only really replenished when the high season starts. Restaurant in low season Friday, Saturday and Sunday. High season all days except Tuesdays (for the time being as that might change next year) 11-23, kitchen opening hours might also change but you'll hear about that. Swimming pool open from 01 June
There is entertainment only in July and August
- Note: Tourist tax must be paid on-site. The tourist tax is €1 per person, per night, for guests aged 12 and older.
- Note: It is not possible to book bed linen at this campsite. You must bring your own, including a duvet cover (140 x 200 cm), pillowcase (70 x 70 cm), and fitted sheet (90 x 200 cm) for each bed. Duvets and pillows are provided.
- The barrier gate is open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Before and after these times, you must park your car in the parking lot outside the campsite.
At Camping La Colline, you can check in from 4:00 PM. On the day of departure, you must check out before 10:00 AM.
Camping La Colline in Virton is located in the south of Belgium, near the French border. Driving is the most practical way to reach the campsite.
The campsite is close to the E411 and E25 highways, ensuring easy access from various directions. From Utrecht, the distance is approximately 350 kilometers, which translates to a travel time of about 4 hours.
